Yes yes, I know I have been gone for ages. I am sorry about that, but it appears it couldn’t be helped. Yet, get excited! Not only is Happy Bubsi back in business, but there is also exciting news:
Bubsi is having a sibling!
You read that right. I am pregnant again. This time I am due in December, which means our little ones will be pretty much three years apart. The projected date is actually just 9 days short of Bubsi’s birthday, so they could really share a party. Not to mention the Christmas holidays – we will be all partied out by January from now on :).
Between excitement and fatigue
Papa and I were elated when we heard the news. Or rather, when the little test strip revealed it. After my kiswed abortion with subsequent D&C in February we really did not expect to conceive again so quickly. My gynaecologist raised her eyebrows a little too, she probably doesn’t buy that we waited the two cycles she prescribed after the procedure. Well, she did not specify whether to wait until the second cycle or two full cycles, and we settled for the first option.
Even so, the fast hormonal changes my body went through the first half of this year took their toll. My first trimester passed in a daze. I was constantly exhausted and tired, properly fatigued. Maybe it was just regular pregnancy symptoms, but I cannot recall the tiredness hitting me so hard when pregnant with Bubsi. One could speculate that running after a toddler all day made it worse, but I doubt that theory – Bubsi had a rather angelic phase in late spring/early summer. Besides, it is not like I didn’t have a job first time around.
Blog begone, or why fatigue stopped me from writing
When the second trimester began, the fatigue did not let up immediately either. I was proud making it through the day somehow without neglecting the needs of the little one. When Papa left for his two-week work trip to the US in June, I finally faced up to reality: Happy Bubsi would not see an update for a while. It was simply unrealistic. Where I had previously used nap time to write many of my posts, I was now napping myself. And come Bubsi’s bedtime, I was sure to hit the hay as well. Something had to give – and that something was everything beyond family and health.
The final stretch of my second trimester is on the up though! I am feeling much better, the baby in the belly is growing well, and Bubsi is telling everyone she will be a sister soon. (Loving that Elsa and Anna from Frozen are sisters really helps – apparently I am Bubsi’s sister too hihi!). Welcome back to Happy Bubsi everyone!
