I love dresses. You wouldn’t guess if you see me, as I hardly wear any. But im my heart, I’ve always been a princess.
Why I don’t wear dresses
Whenever I go to the store (and tja is not often, as shopping is not my thing) I want to buy the dresses I see. Or at least the beautiful skirts. My wardrobe has tons of them. I like the thought of having them. I even like how I look in them. Still, I do not put them im much.
The reason is I am lazy. Very lazy, and the one thing pretty dresses are is impractical. Most of my dresses are from before I had Bubsi. They are lovely, but not exactly nursing friendly (yes, we still breastfeed). Also, their fabrics do not appreciate baby spit-up or greasy toddler fingers. Even if they did I have no time for hand washing right now (rather, no time in which Bubsi won’t attempt tasting the soap water). Finally, having to bend down all the time to pick Bubsi or her toys up infinitely increases the risk of flashing someone.
Wedding dress
So usually, no dresses for me. Some days are special though. These days call for dresses, no matter what. And I am more than happy to dress up for my own wedding day. The day after tomorrow I will be wearing this beauty from British maternity dress designer Tiffany Rose.
It is my favorite choice for several reasons. First, it is simple and fits well. Second, it allows for easy nursing. Bubsi will not understand, after all, why nursing is not ok one evening all over sudden. Third, it is cool. We are expecting over 35 degrees Celsius in the shade im our wedding day, and sweat stains are a no-go. Finally, it can be repurposed in the future, as it is not too wedding focused.
When I put on the dress in 48h, it will mark the end of our wedding preparations. Fingers crossed we manage to get all the last minute problems solved.
