We were so proud of Bubsi. Well, we still are, of course. But we were so proud of the fact that Bubsi was using the potty for poo, always, since she turned 10 months. Until last week.
Bubsi’s potty
When I first came to London I bought Bubsi her first potty. She loved the hoppop from the start, always sitting on it for leisure. Like reading a book. In less than a week she figured out how to poo into the potty. I couldn’t believe it at first, but she has pooed in it ever since. Alright, excepting the one time she had diarrhea.
You can imagine how glad I was about this. Never having to clean pooed diapers was amazing. I am not going to deny it also boosted my ego. Bubsi might not have slept through, like ever, she might still be nursing like a newborn, but hey, she was reliably using the potty. Score!
Until she started missing the potty
Just last week it changed. All over sudden. She said to potty as usual. Even sat on it as usual. However, she got back up, screamed “potty potty” but wouldn’t sit back down. Her entire body rigid, she would poo standing right next to the potty. Down her legs, Info her pants and the floor. A horrible mess!
This asking for but just missing the potty has now happened five days in a row. I tried putting her on the real toilet with her toilet potty. I tried holding her over the potty, over the toilet. We have invented funny stories about how wonderful pooing is. All to no avail. She really seems to suffer, as if she is afraid of the act.
Why is Bubsi missing the potty?
It drives me insane. The cleaning is just one part of it. My main problem is not knowing what has caused this change in behavior. Is it just a phase, like a growth spurt? It is not constipation and she seems healthy, otherwise. Hopefully she will revert to normal soon…
