The early journey

We had visitors these past few days. To Bubsi’s delight, Aunt H and Grandma D came to see us. Okay, they actually just used our hosting services because H was called in for a job interview on the mainland. But Bubsi was super happy because H and D are great fun and dance through the living room with her. For my part, having them around is always more relaxing, and getting some rest after Aunt Flo’s comeback…let’s just say it was a good call.

Early morning journey

As H’s car is currently at the garage for repairs, they came with my dad’s bigger SUV. The SUV has enough space for H, D, Papa, Bubsi amd myself and we spontaneously decided to travel back with my family to spend the weekend on Norderney. A great idea… Except we had to leave super early this morning.

When the alarm clock rang at 5.15 am I thought it was a joke and then realized no shit, we need to get going. Papa was a great help getting Bubsi ready, while I ran around grabbing and packing all the last minute things. Departure was scheduled for 5.45, and saying that Bubsi was not too excited about the middle of sleep cycle wake up would be an understatement. Read: high pitched wailing for a long time, or until H came into the bedroom.

We made the 8.45 ferry!

We made the 8.45 ferry!

Just in time

We left so early because we had to catch yhe 8.45 am ferry to the island. Aunt H works from 10, and the ferry needs approximately an hour at low tide. All of us rested on the drive, except grandma the chauffeur. At the harbour, Bubsi admired the ships. Grandma took her on a walk through the rain after the long drive. They came back with yummy breadrolls to fill our churning tummys.

The ferry arrived and we are now looking forward to a nice family weekend with Grandpa K and the dogs. What are your plans?
